The advice was to do a PRAM-reset which they did and it fixed the problem. One last thing: I did see that another person on the forum had this problem, but in their case it seemed that their ALT key was working at first then at some point stopped.

I should add that I have seen this work successfully on another machine where I helped a friend install Windows via Bootcamp on their MacBook Air so I am familiar with this process for the most part. I'd like to get the boot menu working via the ALT key so I can switch to any OS right when starting up. Im asking this because on the website it says requirements : windows 7,8 or Xp and doesnt say mac. If so will the features of programable keys work on mac os. For e.g: I get ' when I press shift+ and vice versa. Does the Logitech G170+ work for when plugged into a mac i.e my macbook laptop as im looking to move the pc gaming and want a good keyboard before i change. The problem is with several special characters which are typed in combination with shift key. I think I inadvertently hit a couple of keys at the same time on my Logitech keyboard for. So, as a workaround I have to resort to choosing my startup OS via 'startup system' and 'Startup Disk' in WIndows 7 and Snow Leopard respectively. Guys, I 'thought' I had a weird problem with my logitech Key+Mouse MK250 wireless combo but it turned out to be something completely different. Press Ctrl + Alt> then Shift key once or more as needed. Is that the problem? The ALT key on a PC keyboard should map to the ALT/Option key for the mac (to the best of my knowledge).
